If you’re in for some relaxation, best to spend a day here at Nurture Wellness Village. We dined at its restaurant called Gabriela which offers healthy Filipino cuisine with options of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. They have amazing food and the ambiance is indeed relaxing. Gabriela sources their ingredients locally and straight from their farm where there’s also a herbal tea garden. What we tried: Caldereta Osso Buco St. Sisig Seared Salmon Vegie Meat Embutido Nurture Salad Vegie Meat Bistek Chicken Kare-Kare Roulade Vegie Meat Kare-Kare Golden Spring Roll Tilapia sa Laing Suman at Mangga There are Bilao meals perfect for groups, too. I love the variety and I thought it was well-curated. Each has organic rice, Batangas atchara, salted egg with tomatoes, assorted fresh fruit slices, and a pitcher of herbed iced tea. Ilocos Bilao – Laing with gata, Chicken Pork Adobo, Daing na Bangus Abra Bilao – Pinakbet, Kalderetang Osso Bucco, Tawilis Baguio – Chopsuey, Herb Roast Chicken, Fried Tilapia

Girasol Tagaytay

Tagaytay, Philippines • Recommendation •

Girasol means “sunflower” and just like the warm sunshine, they promise to provide dishes that are crafted with the finest ingredients that elicit a sense of adventure but also reminiscent of home. This place is perfect for families or with big groups. They have spacious event space as well for any occasion. The second floor has an amazing view, too. For the Pizza, we had Margherita, Mushroom Pepperoni, and Quattro Formaggi. The pizza somewhat had that ‘biscuit dough’ which was thin and crispy. I am not a fan of this kind of dough but they made it quite good. Generous toppings on each flavorful pizza. You may also try: Tomato Bolognese Seafood Verdure Pancetta and Mushroom Chicken and Blue Cheese Risotto Prawn Risotto Eggs Benedict Crispy Fried Chicken Pinaso For one memorable dining experience, head on to Girasol and enjoy the food they offer. I promise you’ll love it as much as I did.

Josephine Restaurant

Tagaytay, Philippines • Recommendation •

As you know, Tagaytay is my go-to place when I want to enjoy good food with a cool breeze, relaxing and mesmerizing views. Thankfully, I am just minutes away from here. Josephine is one of Tagaytay’s prominent restaurants. They’ve been around for 50 years with their first location in Kawit, Cavite. Making them one of the oldest restaurants in the area. The ambiance is no doubt, superb! It has the perfect view of Taal. I definitely enjoyed the food while enjoying this scenic view. Here's the food you can order: Bulalo Soup Mutya ng Cavite Soup Prawns in Chili Sauce Halo Halo sa Buko

Tagaytay, Philippines • Recommendation •

Samgyupsal and a cold breeze, isn’t this perfect? Premier the Samgyupsal in Tagaytay gives you these two combos. You will love the ambiance here with its red and black hue. It is air-conditioned with adjustable exhaust and that's a lifesaver if you don’t want all that smoke. There are comfortable couches to enjoy grilling all you want. There are a total of 15 side dishes. What I enjoyed the most was the Tofu and Kani Salad. Here are the list of 15 side dishes: – Fish Cake – Marble Potato – Sweet Peanuts – Pickled Cucumber – Moosam (pickled radish with wasabi) – Sweet Potato – Sweet Anchovy – Coleslaw – Japanese Rice – Mozzarella Cheese – Kimchi – Kimbap – Beef Soup – Kani Salad – Kani Salad Kimbap – Beef Kimbap – Korean Congee They do have unlimited meat for as low as Php500 but if do not feel like indulging on the unlimited meat, you may opt to order an ala carte menu such as Wagyuchadolbagi (wagyu beef brisket for Php580 and Kotdungsim (Au Marbled Sirloin Beef) for Php980. These comes with 6 side dishes already. Spend Php1000, you’ ll get an egg roll and a kimbap. I enjoyed the food and the service was fast here. Definitely a value for money. I strongly suggest that you dine here and avail the promo while it last.

Siglo is one of the restaurants in Tagaytay that offers Filipino comfort food. They’re located in View Park Hotel which is great if you’re staying or near the area. We were able to sample their famous Bilao that’s being offered by group: Siglo Bilao – This is their most affordable Bilao that is good for 4 – 5 persons. These heirloom recipes were handpicked by the Siglo team during their travels. It contains the following: Siglo Salad Native Tinola Crispy Tawilis Classic Kare-kare Pansit Pusit Steamed Rice Fresh fruits 1.5 Liter soda Barkada Bilao – The more the merrier. This is called as such since in a Barkada, there’s always going to be a lot of food choices. These dishes were carefully selected and is a timeless favorites. It includes: Himagsikan Wings Crispy Sisig Calamares Frito Gising-gising Bulalo Regular Steamed Rice Fresh fruits 1.5 Liter soda Luzviminda Bilao – These dishes has some samples from North to South. It has the best sellers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, hence the name. You can enjoy: Ubod Salad Lumpiang Shanghai Bagnet Ilocos Chicken Binakol Kare-kareng Lamang Dagat Steamed Rice Fresh fruits So, if you’re so much into Filipino food and in Tagaytay, I suggest you visit Siglo as they provide comfort food with lots of good choices.
