Meet the owner
Kelly opened this branch as a way to support the amazing brand her friend had created, as well as use the proceeds to support her mom's origami flower business, Trees2Flowers (a subsidiary of Edgewater Candles ATX). Kelly's mom, Vicki, was in a horrible car accident in September of 2015, and after a month-long coma, relied on the experts in various rehabilitation services to retrain her how to walk, talk, swallow, etc. Part of Vicki's rehab for hand-eye coordination was origami, and knowing that people in ICU cannot receive living plants, she focused on paper flowers.
Vicki currently suffers from a TBI (traumatic brain injury), which prevents her from being able to hold a job in any physical or mental strenuous environment. Kelly uses the profits from Edgewater Candles ATX to pay for markets to sell both her candles and Vicki's flower arrangements, as well as help with supplies for the flowers. Vicki wanted nothing more than to inspire people with her work, but the money she makes is a great help in supporting her basic needs.
