In a world of its own, Australia is a beautifully isolated continent—its flora and fauna an open secret within the metropolitan wonder.
Sydney, Wollongong
The one where I remember our family holiday in Australia from December 2016.
One of our first stops in Sydney, this tramway depot-turned-lifestyle district is a hip destination for restaurants, cafés, and other local shops. We spent a bit of time here, trying out different spots for some coffee, a heavy lunch, and even dessert! I feel so full just remembering it. More on those below! 😅

Started the day in Tramsheds with a Flat White from Garçon. ☕️

My cousins decided to stuff our faces with Hot Wings and Tenders and a side of Old Bay Fries. Belles Blue Cheese is also bomb. I got their Iced Tea, too, because your girl needs her sugar! (📷 via Belles Hot Chicken/Instagram)

We ended our visit to Tramsheds with gelato. I think I chose a scoop of some coffee-flavored gelato on a cone, but I really don’t remember. I just remember loving it! Gelato Messina is one of my cousin’s girlfriend’s favorite “ice cream” spots, and we also loved it! (📷 via Gelato Messina/Instagram)

I dub thee, the most Instagram-worthy place in Sydney! The Grounds is a magical garden of organic goodness with a café and roastery, restaurant, animal farm, florist, and many more packed inside. I enjoyed the freshest lemonade of my life here, and had a hefty lunch (again) at The Potting Shed. More on that below!

Open ’til late, I tried Harry’s for the first time when my college best friend Jewel and her husband Len took me for a chill night out. I got the Hot Dog De Wheels with chili con carne, mushy peas, garlic onions, chili & cheese sauce. I wasn’t a huge fan of the peas, but I still enjoyed it!

I spent a whole afternoon here just wandering about with Jewel and my brother. At the time, a huge Tatsuo Miyajima exhibit was on that we had to pay extra to see. It was worth it, though!

My uncle is a huge nature buff, and knows a lot of really scenic spots in Sydney. Whenever we visit, we can always count on him to take us out of the city for an adventure—and the Kiama Blowhole was just one of them!

What’s a visit to Sydney without going to Bondi Beach? Being a true blue tropical girl, I can’t stand cold water; thus, I’ve never tried actually swimming on this beach. (There’s also a lot of surfing, which I’m too chicken to try.) I do recommend, however, doing the Bondi Cliff Walk! It’s great exercise, and you can really explore the surrounding area even if you don’t swim. 🌊

In any city, this is one of the first stores I look for. This particular location is huge, carries most of the brands under Sephora. The bestsellers are always out of stock, though!

A smaller location, but more available stocks!
