The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a famous national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. It is located at Liberty Square in Zhongzheng District, Taipei. This picturesque landmark is a perfect spot for your instagrammable photos. The octagon-shaped white building rises 76 meters high and is topped off with blue tiles and red accents which are also the colors of the national flag. The building has a total area of 256 square meters. The eight sides are a nod to the belief that 8 is a very auspicious number.
