Quezon City
Reminiscing my college life. Here are some of the places that kept me sane (aka not hungry). 😅
The Pantea (Pandan Tea) is my ultimate pick-me-up! Every time I go back to UP, I drop by for a drink. They're also famous for their quail egg siomai. 🤤
I. Delos Reyes Street, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
The one and only—Mang Larry's Isawan! The ultimate isko/iska favorite (but since I don't eat isaw, I only get the barbecue, which is also pretty good). Standing room only, but no one ever complains. 🍢
Magsaysay Avenue near UP College of Social Work and Community, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Go-to for org meetings aka my weekly sago't gulaman fix! 😋
100 Bahay ng Alumni Magsaysay Ave, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Every time my grandmother visits me and my sister in school, she'd message us to meet her in Via Mare (#thebestfoodisfreefood). 😂 We'd have lunch or merienda (mid-afternoon snack), then take another meal out to-go. 😛
GT Toyota Asian Cultural Center, Katipunan Road corner Magsaysay Street, UP Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Art gallery / restaurant. Pretty decent food at student-friendly (ish) prices. 👍🏼
Ground Floor, Ang Bahay Ng Alumni, R. Magsaysay Street, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Since my parents' time in the university, ChocKiss has been known to cater to the kids with cash to spend. That hasn't changed. 😂 Food's good, ambience is mature, and it comes with a full-on waitstaff. It's also the best place to find last-minute cakes! 🍰
2nd Floor Ang Bahay ng Alumni, R. Magsaysay Street, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
The first meal I ever had in UP was in Rodic's. I think I was less than 10 years old. It's an institution in the university, known for its tapa (which many say isn't actually beef...). I only ever get tapa so I can't speak for the other dishes; but come on, why would you go to Rodic's and not get the tapa?!
