Starting out in 1945 as a cafe for American occupation troops to grab food and drinks, Max’s Restaurant is now a local institution where families gather for different celebrations. Dubbed as “The House that Fried Chicken Built,” it is revered for what many consider the golden standard in local fried chicken: skin that’s crispy even without breading, and meat that’s incredibly tender, juicy and tasty. It’s best partnered with their version of banana ketchup, a purely Filipino creation that sprung from a shortage its tomato counterpart during World War 2.

Max restaurant was the one who will create family stronger with sarap to the bones chicken. Sizzling tofu that melts into your mouth and their filipino cusine will take you to the next level of variety of food. Definely will comeback and it will be my birthday.

This night was surreal and special, we booked for their special menu for 2021 New Year’s Eve countdown. The food choices we made are gastronomic. I posted their special NYE menu in the photos. We had pizza, pasta, pan-grilled chops and their house platter. We left the place happily remembering the ultimate experience of having good food, the best 360 view in the eve of New Year and most of all, having our furbabies with us to welcome the new year 🥹 We couldn’t ask for a more perfect date.

Pizza, Pasta, Drinking and Coffee place in one. The perfect spot to unwind without compromising the quality of food. Their meals are good for sharing I’d say you’ll get the value for your money. Bonus points for the interiors, too! Although it may not be a place for someone who likes well-lit places cos they go for warm and dim lights inside. They do have an Al Fresco setup just near the entrance door, but it won’t give you the same ambiance as when you’re dining inside.
