More than just a magnificent force of nature, Mount Yotei transforms into a siren for adrenaline-junkies looking to conquer the 1,898 meter inactive volcano. The steep incline and cold weather may pose a challenge for hikers, but the six to eight hour climb is well-compensated with a magnificent panoramic view of Niseko. Reaching Mount Yotei’s peak only signals the start of the adventure. Walk along the rim of the crater and marvel at the striking contrast between the bright blue sky and the brilliant white snow. Experienced snowboarders are in for a thrill as you slide through the mountain, navigating between large boulders before moving into smooth trails the rest of the way down. Hiring a guide is your best bet to triumph over Mount Yotei. Book one through your hotel or the different sports outlets in Niseko.
