Recommendation by Lemi

The world’s largest public square, Tiananmen Square has seen its fair share of historic moments. These include the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in 1949 and the Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989. Drop by before sunrise to watch the daily raising of the flag; likewise, you may also come before sunset to catch the flag being drawn down. Here, you’ll find China’s biggest monument dedicated to the People’s Heroes; the Great Hall of the People which hosts government meetings; and the National Museum of China. The main attraction, though, is the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, home of the embalmed body of PRC chairman Mao Zedong!
