In 1926, the family patriarch opened a dairy shop in central Athens. Its Greek yogurt uses four liters of milk that is mixed the company’s own live active yoghurt cultures before being slow-fermented. The family named their yogurt brand FAGE (pronounced fah-yeh) after the Greek word for "eat."
