Also known as the Temple of the Soul’s Retreat, Lingyin Temple is one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in China. It was built around 326 to 328 AD by an Indian monk named Huili who, after exploring Hangzhou, became enchanted by the land. Join pilgrims as you scour the temple’s different halls. Enter the Hall of Four Heavenly Kings to encounter the statue of the Laughing Buddha; then, make your way towards the Mahavira Hall where Gautama Buddha sits majestically on a lotus throne.
