Calling all mountain climbers! Get out your chalk bags out and ascend Tung Lung Chau, regarded as the best place for rock climbing in the territories, for a wild adventure. For those who’d rather take it easy, there are also light paths that lead you to magnificent cliff-side vistas. Drop by Tung Lung Chau Fort, a defense structure built between 1662 and 1722 to guard the island from pirates, that gracefully aged into a rustic remnant of the past.

Beautiful waters form a dramatic backdrop to your ascent and a rewarding view once you’ve finished. There are options available for varying levels of difficulty. The Technical Wall is a single-pitch climb, meaning the route can be finished in one go! It is also by far the busiest wall, especially on weekends. Favor Sea Gully, Big Wall, and Kite Rock when you’re feeling a little more solitary. They’re just as scenic and bear interesting challenges for climbers.

With clear skies and shady trees above you, and a dirt path climbing hills ahead, it’s hard to believe that this all exists within the city. Filinvest City is a lifestyle hub in development known for their dining and shopping destinations. Patches of empty lots on the grid were soon converted into nine kilometers of biking and running trails. It fringes southern Metro Manila, just before a major highway, so joggers have a nature excursion without ever leaving the city! Runners just starting their journey can ease in with the Beginner Trails. These stretch along the entire Filinvest Avenue. The adventurous ones can go straight to the Intermediate and Advanced Trails, clustered on both sides of Corporate Avenue. You’ll be sharing the trails with bikers so keep alert, and if possible, come with friends the first time!
