Go for a stroll along Shanghai’s most iconic landmark! The Bund (外滩) is a waterfront walkway lined with 52 buildings of different architectural styles from various Western influences: Gothic, Neoclassical, Renaissance, and Beaux-Arts among others. Located on the west bank of the Huangpu River, it also faces Pudong District’s high-rises which light up the city skyline as soon as the sun goes down. Drop by at night to experience the Bund in its liveliest and most vibrant; the crowd may be thick, but the spectacular atmosphere makes it all worth it!

Across the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower sits majestically at the tip of Lujiazui in Pudong District. Standing at 468-meters high, it is made up of 11 spherical structures which are home to observation desks, entertainment facilities, exhibition halls, and even a revolving restaurant! Go straight to the Space Capsule (the highest sphere) to get a 360-degree view of the city!

Nanjing Road is more than just the city’s main shopping street. It’s also one of the world’s busiest shopping districts, inviting over a million locals and tourists to scour its 5.5-kilometer stretch. Start at West Nanjing Road where you’ll discover a plethora of luxury fashion boutiques, upscale restaurants, and five-star hotels. Also known as the Garden of Happiness, it was originally built during the Ming Dynasty by Sichuan governor Pan Yunduan as a private garden for his parents. Nowadays, it is frequented by visitors from all over, thanks to its breathtaking scenery worthy of a dozen snapshots! From the entrance, follow the trail going clockwise to witness the garden’s six main areas. Remember to plan your trip on a weekday, since weekends tend to draw bigger crowds.

Famous for being the largest and oldest temple in Shanghai, the Longhua Temple is dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha (the future Buddha according to Buddhist eschatology).
