Also on the Piazza, Palazzo Ducale is the city’s very own royal palace—a pillared masterpiece where the Doge or Ducale (the head of state) lived and reigned. A mix of architectural styles make it distinctly Venetian, perfect for the leader of the diverse port city it was at the time. Sadly, photography is prohibited inside Palazzo Ducale. However, the symmetrical archways and intricate tableaus facing the Piazza San Marco are available to all for a photo opportunities. Strike a pose dead center as the pillars line up behind you.

Hired a private guide at the very last minute to take us around the Doge’s Palace. Was interesting but unfortunately her English wasn’t the best, so won’t leave contact details coz no point.
Palazzo Ducale is a grand piece of Gothic architecture that served as the city’s political and administrative seat, mainly as the home of the Doge (Duke). The white stone, pink marble structure retains much of its original 14th- and 15th-century foundations, while Renaissance, Mannerist, and modern touches were added in later years. Out of all the palazzo’s (Italian for “palace”) ornate rooms, the enormous Sala del Maggior Consiglio (Chamber of the Great Council) is the most jaw-dropping. It boasts impressive murals by renowned Italian artists, such as Paolo Veronese and Jacopo and Domenico Tintoretto.

Whenever you’re in Antipolo, dropping by Pinto Art Museum is a must. Known for housing a variety of artworks, it offers a feast for your eyes with its paintings to sculptures to installations. A friendly tip, an hour is definitely not enough to cover the entire museum and I suggest trying their in house cafe, Café Rizal. ☁️🎨

Since visiting the National Museum, I've been fascinated and dedicated to learning how our local artists create their own artworks. I've also seen pictures of the museum, and there are so many contemporary arts that I want to see and help me strengthen my inner artistic side so that I can get inspiration for future projects.
