Cocotte’s farm to table empire is expanding. Mozza is their Italian restaurant, with excellent pizzas, on the ground floor of Emquartier with both indoor and outdoor seating. cocotte will also open a new bistro concept called Victoria soon in the mall.

I’ve never had a bad meal at Nara, they do all the Thai classics like pad Thai, red curry duck and Tom yum soup really well. Lots of branches but the Emquartier one is easy to find.

You’re paying for the view and the atmosphere more than the food, but when I have ordered food here’s it’s always been good. Opens 5pm, nice for a drink on a sunset evening outside of rainy season!

It’s surprisingly hard to find good Vietnamese food in Bangkok, considering the proximity to Vietnam! Le Dalat in Emporium is a decent option if you have a craving for pho.

Ah, Roast, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. While there are many many cafe options in Bangkok, we always find ourself back at Roast. The menu is varied enough for a bite to eat any time of day, the ingredients are top notch and the coffee is strong.

Another photogenic restaurant with great food and drinks for all day dining, albeit a bit pricey. Grab an outside table if you want to people watch, although it gets very busy at peak times.

However if you have a grumpy toddler in tow, the best place to go is the Gourmet Market supermarket, where there is an endless supply of free cheese and juice samples.

2Most Thai restaurants in Bangkok have some kind of Western menu. What's unusual at Audrey is that the Western options are actually pretty good! Officially it's a "flower themed Parisian cafe" but they have a very large menu with ample options for all tastes

5Cocotte expands its empire with an all day dining bistro in Emquartier. Very friendly service. Cheese plate and fresh lemonade was good, burger was so so. They also do take away rotisserie chicken.

3A reliable standby for coffee and Western dishes in Emquartier. Usually pretty busy. They often have interesting seasonal items around Christmas and other holidays. Bread products are good.

2How do you tell a fish and chip shop is authentic? I say it's by the random jars of pickled onions on the counter. This newly opened chippy is on soi 33/1 next to Villa Market just next to Emquartier. The fish is good quality, the chips are proper British chip shop chips with salt and vinegar, and the peas are mushy, as they should be! British owner and friendly staff.

2Bangkok now has a branch of the cult coffee shop Kitsune (japanese for fox). Kitsune started off as a french & japanese electronic music label before branching off into fashion and fox shaped shortbreads to have with your artisan coffee. Go see what all the fuss is about.
