Bangkok's MRT stations are generally functional and clean but boring copies of each other. However, several new stations opened in 2019 have much more interesting architecture inspired by the local area. MRT Sanam Chai is close to Bangkok's Chinatown and its red wooden roof is inspired by temple architecture.
