The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a famous national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. It is located at Liberty Square in Zhongzheng District, Taipei. This picturesque landmark is a perfect spot for your instagrammable photos. The octagon-shaped white building rises 76 meters high and is topped off with blue tiles and red accents which are also the colors of the national flag. The building has a total area of 256 square meters. The eight sides are a nod to the belief that 8 is a very auspicious number. (Info credits to Ciaran McEneaney of https://theculturetrip.com/asia/taiwan/articles/20-must-visit-attractions-in-taipei/ Tips: **Make sure to bring your own light snack and drinks because restaurants are quite far from the area or close especially on weekends. **Best time to go here is during the late afternoon so you can see the transition of day and night as they lit the landmark beautifully during the evening. You can also catch the performance of the changing of guard ceremony that is scheduled hourly. Opening hours: 9am to 6pm

When it comes to architecture, the iconic Taj Mahal is one of the best sights. It’s unbelievably stunning. History says that the palace hotel was built at a time of a huge epidemic to help rebuild the city’s pleasant image. A timely inspiration for all of us today, isn’t it?

Shame it was friggin raining and fogging when we attempted to Taipei 101 ourselves. So we ended up eating and milktea-ing our misery away. I got to say, the tower was so magical at night. It was so pretty. A little FYI: back in 2004, this building was the tallest in the world that it made the Guinness World Record until Burj Khalifa broke its reign.
