Start off your journey across central and northern Thailand by flying in smack in the middle of the bustling country's largest city, Bangkok. The Siriraj Medical Museum (or more popularly known as the Death Museum) is definitely not for the faint of heart. This museum has six main exhibitions, namely: the Ellis Pathological Museum, Songkran Niyomsane Forensic Medicine Museum, Parasitology Museum, Congdon Anatomical Museum, Soon Sangvichien Prehistoric Museum and Laboratory, and the Touch Exhibits museum (which was actually added for visually-impaired guests). All sections could located inside the oldest medical institution in all of Thailand, the Siriraj Hospital.

What started off as a pop-up exhibition to promote awareness on blindness has now turned into a franchise available in 21 countries across the globe. Currently, Dialogue In The Dark can be found in nine Asian countries which includes one in Bangkok, Thailand. Experience life in a whole new perspective as you try to find your way through darkness using your four other senses, with a [visually-impaired] guide and cane in hand. Not only will you help support an initiative that empowers the blind, you will also gain a better understanding of disabilities and a greater sense of empathy.

Bangkok is home to a lot of outrageous and uncommon activities and places, and having an airplane graveyard is definitely one of those. No one really knows how this collection came to be. Some believe these planes used to be privately owned and was later on abandoned for reasons that have yet to be discovered. Since its discovery in 2010, the site has been visited by both tourists and locals alike. Whether it be because of a penchant for aviation or the sheer determination of snapping a picture for the gram. Although some planes are currently being inhabited by locals, the place is still very much open to the public. It's definitely a place worth checking out.

Work your way up to the northern part of the country with the White Temple as your first stop! The White Temple we have today is the brainchild of Chiang Rai-born artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. He reconstructed the temple in a way that is representative of Buddhist philosophies and teachings on life and death.

A visit to the north wouldn't be complete without checking out the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle, a term coined by the CIA, is the point at which Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos converge. It used to be the largest opium-producing area in the world up until the 1990s—when production started to decline because of the government's restoration efforts for a drug-free Chiang Rai. To further this initiative, the Hall of Opium was opened. In this museum, you will get a walk-through of the drug trade and the eradication operations of Thailand for the past years.

The Doi Tung Royal Villa used to be the official residence of Thailand's beloved 'Princess Mother' a.k.a. Princess Srinagarinda. Princess Mother was an icon and an inspiration to many as she lived a life of grace, hardwork, and determination. She was a commoner and was set to join her aunt as one of the royal family's nannies but because of her wit and intelligence, she was awarded a scholarship to study nursing in the United States. This was where she met Prince Mahidol Adulyadej who eventually asked for her hand in marriage.

A few slopes down the Doi Tung Royal Villa, you would find the Mae Fah Luang Garden. The garden was envisioned by Princess Mother in hopes of eradicating the cultivation of opium poppies by providing a more sustainable livelihood for the people of Northern Thailand. At present, the 9-acre Mae Fah Luang Garden is now being maintained by local villagers and drug operations continue to decrease.
