As a gamer, and a huge nerd, this place felt like home to me. I love all the arcades, otaku related things (maid cafes, manga cafes) and just the overall vibe the place itself brings.

Akihabara is a staple place to visit whenever you travel to Japan. It is known for being an otaku's dream world. It is a city filled with anime merchandise and otaku culture. It is also home to a lot of bizarre-themed cafes and bars, which I would like to visit someday. I always find myself watching YouTube videos from my favorite English speaking Japanese based content creators (CDawgVA, Akidearest) whenever they post weirdly cool places which always capture my attention. It would be fun to visit Akihabara someday with my otaku friends.

Tokyo is famous for Anime, electronics, manga, and video games and Akihabara is the epicenter if it all. If your a big fan of One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan, and so much more anime this is your first destination as the street is filled with so much anime enthusiast, toys, games, maid cafes, and everything you fantasize being in when watching your favorite anime.

As I’m looking back at the pictures I took in Japan, I was a bit confused on why I had limited photos in Akihabara but then again I was too engrossed with buying anime merch.

I wrote about Akihabara for one of my first Finds (now Lemi) articles; so it was a total dream come true seeing it with my own eyes! 😭 I explored the area alone, so I got to take my time going in each arcade: SEGA, Super Potato, Taito, etc. Beware—the claw machines are addictive!!! 🧸 I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in the city; maybe even spend a whole day just playing!

Akihabara is famous for its devotion to otaku (オタク, fans of anime and manga) culture! Known for its abundance of arcades, the district is your top choice for a day of fun and games. Marvel at pros expertly maneuvering consoles at Hirose Entertainment Yard, relive your childhood at retro game shangri-la Super Potato, or spend all your change on the gachapons (ガチャポン, vending machines that dispense small toys) at Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan! Nicknamed “Electric Town,” Akihabara is also known for the technology shops that line its streets. Yodobashi Akiba sells everything from computers to accessories. Maid cafes are also popular must-visits here, where waitresses treat customers like masters. Just follow the French maid costume-clad ladies to stumble upon one!

Bantayan Island is one of the fast growing destinations in the Northern part of Cebu. This beautiful island known for its crystal blue waters and white sand beaches. While going around the island you’ll be able to spot cliff jumping spots that you cannot miss! But remember to be safe and check the condition of the water before jumping in. While on the island, you can rent a boat to go island hopping! The Virgin Island is one of the islands that you should not miss while in Bantayan. This island is indeed very underrated but who are we to complain right? As much as it deserves more attention, tourist would rather have the island all to themselves. It’s like a well kept secret in Cebu! Have you also heard about an island called Kalanggaman in Leyte? You can get there from Bantayan in 2 hours! It’s a beautiful long stretch of sand bar that looks like a place straight out of a post card. You can swim and takes lots of pictures while also enjoying the things that the little beautiful island has to offer in terms of food and activities. This little island is proud of its hidden beaches and islets! While going around the island on your rented motorcycle, be sure to ask the locals about some hidden spots. You’ll be surprised how many they have. And the best thing? These places would be the main attraction for other countries, but in the Philippines? It’s just a random beach that you happen to pass by! Sometimes it doesn’t even have a name yet! Imagine the privilege right? Be a responsible traveler please!
